Wizards aggressively looking to trade Otto Porter Jr

The Chicago Bulls have acquired Otto Porter from the Washington Wizards, per The Athletic's Shams Charania.

In exchange for the 25-year-old forward, the Bulls sent forwards Jabari Parker and Bobby Porti to the Wizards.

While Wall's expensive contract is being ridiculed (4-year/$170M extension beginning next season), Porter's weight on the books may have been worse. Porter is making just over $26 million this season.

One big thing they'll be getting off their hands is Porter's contract, in which they would owe him $27 million next year with a player option for $28.5 million for the 2019-20 season.

Here's a look at the Bulls updated roster and projected starting lineup after the trade. With Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. as frontline staples for Chicago, Portis became expendable. Expect the Wizards to remain active through Thursday's deadline to shed more salary and get out of the tax entirely.

There are also the never-ending linkups with Real Madrid as the player himself has been quite vocal of being a part of the Los Blancos in his career.

Parker's first and only season with the Bulls was a massive disappointment. Since then, he has played 384 games, averaging 10.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.18 steals per game.

It was unsure if the Wizards (22-31) would actually go through with breaking up their core three of Porter, John Wall and Bradley Beal. Porter could have more of an opportunity to shine offensively in Chicago. Further, ESPN's Zach Lowe and Kevin Arnovitz, both reputable National Basketball Association insiders, said on a podcast Monday that the Wizards have not made Porter available.

"Can confirm Otto Porter Jr is headed to the Bulls".

With John Wall out, the Washington Wizards have decided to make some moves.

And after Wall's latest injury, NBC insider Tom Haberstroh reported the Wizards plan to "stay the course" in chasing the postseason.
