With the National Basketball Association trade deadline just days away, rumors are going to be flying.

While Davis' future will continue to occupy National Basketball Association columns for the foreseeable future-particularly as New Orleans doesn't seem interested in trading him before the deadline-an interesting subplot involving his two main suitors has begun to emerge.

After a dinner meeting and a trade request a month later, this seems to have been the plan all along.

Signing Irving and then trading for Davis in the summer would financially be an easier path for the Lakers, but also become problematic as the Celtics could enter the picture in a potential Davis trade come July 1. Irving and James defeated the Golden State Warriors together, but Irving eventually wanted to move on an make a name on his own.

Irving reportedly wanting to play with James again is certainly notable.

Benitez: Newcastle players played for the shirt in Man City win
We are really looking forward to it, but it won't be easy like the last game (a 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace) was not easy. We need to make sure we build on it and use it as a point from which we take hope and belief.

Fed Shifts to 'Patient' Policy on Rate Hikes
The Fed's preferred inflation gauge has risen 1.8 percent in the past 12 months, below its 2 percent annual target. Stocks rallied following the announcement, with the major USA indexes ending between 1% and 2% higher.

While Irving has a great young supporting cast around him, there has been a ton of speculation as to whether or not he will return to the team this offseason. While his tone has softened, he did say Friday that Boston remains at "the head of the race".

Irving has excelled for the Celtics during his 18-month stint with the team, and so far this season, the 26-year-old is averaging 23.7 points, 6.9 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Nonetheless, there is no mistaking how this information has spread throughout the league despite Irving's strong statements to the contrary. The first is to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, and that is possible (you can read how here). One of those places that has been talked about is the New York Knicks who just traded away Kristaps Porzingis.

However, the reports about James and the phone call the two had is causing smoke and where there is smoke there is fire.

There are multiple layers to the possibility of Irving and James becoming teammates, namely the future of Anthony Davis. That is an insane and plausible thought that was absolutely laughable just a few months ago.
