Affiliate KTLA reports that a Cessna 414A had just departed the Fullerton Municipal Airport when the plane went down for an unknown reason.

It is still unclear whether or not the pilot is one of the deceased.

Ambulances stand on place as the smoke rises from a house on fire by the crash of a Cessna 414A in a residential area in Yorba Linda, California.

The Orange County Fire Authority confirmed the fatalities on Twitter, adding that another two people had been sent to a local hospital.

Debris from the aircraft could be found over four blocks, according to Eliott Simpson from the National Transportation Safety Board. The home can be seen with scorch marks on its facade and broken windows, among other damage.

Pat Rogers, who lives about a mile from the crash site, told the Orange County Register he saw the plane on fire and coming apart.

Footage from the scene showed a blaze engulfing one of the houses in the suburban area with people shouting to keep away from the building.

Images also showed a propeller and plane debris scattered across a driveway and a man dousing a burning object that was on the street with a garden hose.
