Just after midnight on Friday, Ariana Grande dropped her new single "7 Rings" - a shameless ode to shopping and female friendship - along with an accompanying music video featuring plenty of champagne, chandeliers and over-the-top bling.

Nokia (real name Destiny Frasqueri) tagged Grande in a video of herself listening to "7 Rings" and her own song, "Mine", from her 1992 mixtape.

Nokia has posted a video on Twitter saying: "Does that sound familiar to you?" 'Cause that sound really familiar to me. Ain't that the lil'song I made about brown women and their hair'.

The 25-year-old's latest banger is backed by a track that plays playful homage to "My Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music".

There's a very narrow line between stealing, sampling, and being inspired by other artists in the music industry, and Ariana Grande's intentions are unclear, but not without scrutiny.

UK Parliament votes down PM May's EU divorce deal by 230 votes
A diplomatic source told AFP any extension would not be possible beyond June 30, when the new European Parliament will be formed. Corbyn said renegotiations can not be ruled out if MPs reject the current deal. "Surely this is the real threat to our union ".

Adding: 'Hmm. sounds about white'.

Grande's song also alludes to some personal experiences, however, including references to her failed engagement to Pete Davidson.

She sees it, she likes it, she wants it, she got it. The "7 Rings" in the title refer to how Grande bought matching diamond rings for her and six of her best friends.

Grande goes on, seemingly preferring to spoil her friends instead of worrying about a relationship, singing, 'I'd rather spoil all my friends with my riches/Think retail therapy my new addiction'.
