Cadillac released photos of the company' very first electric vehicle on Sunday, at an off-site event that took place before the Detroit Auto Show.

Now, seemingly feeling the pressure from Tesla, the company has changed tack and plans to focus its electric cars efforts under its most expensive brand, Cadillac. "It will represent the height of luxury and innovation while positioning Cadillac as the pinnacle of mobility".

GM's future EV platform, which Cadillac is the first to utilize, will be flexible, with a relatively short design and development lead time.

Going forward, General Motors will make Cadillac its "lead electric vehicle brand". Called as Cadillac BEV3, the vehicle, in fact, is a cross-over of different shapes and employs the state-of-the-art EV-based transmission and ignition system.

As of now, all we can do is look forward to further updates on this upcoming electric vehicle from Cadillac.
