Trump Signing MAGA Hats in Iraq May Have Violated Defense Department Rule

President Donald Trump on Wednesday defended his decision to withdraw US troops from Syria during an unannounced visit to Iraq, saying that many people will start seeing things on Syria the same way he does.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump greet members of the military as they arrive for a hangar rally at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018. "Then they said, 'Give us another six months.' I said, 'Go get them.' Then they said 'Can we have one more, like, period of six months?' I said". "George in one session says 'it's not a lie if you believe it.'". Trump's pay raise was 2.4 percent, in line with similar raises that have been provided every year over the past decade.

The performance was the latest in a long line of such trips, beginning with one staged by George W. Bush just a year after the U.S. launched its catastrophic and criminal war against Iraq.

Although the 2.6% increase is the largest in nine years, Trump still exaggerated significantly, claiming that he delivered a pay raise some four times larger than that and, in another uncertain anecdote, that he fought for it over unnamed military personnel who'd wanted a smaller increase.

President Donald Trump returned to the White House on Thursday after making an unannounced trip to Iraq to visit US troops stationed there.

Apart from Trump's dishonesty about military pay raises, his trip was controversial because it prompted the Iraqi parliament to demand that United States troops leave the country. Make it more than 10%'.

National security expert nails Trump for revealing classified identities of special ops troops in Iraq visit
Trump Accidentally Revealed A Covert US Navy Seal Operation On Twitter. Happy Holidays!

"'Cause it's been a long time, it's been more than 10 years".

It is a falsehood Trump has repeated before. So, with all that going on, the president wants to be seen as someone who's being a commander in chief, who's taking charge, who is supporting troops. Al-Sadr has called for curbing USA and Iranian involvement in Iraqi affairs.

"We have 30,000 troops in Germany", he said.

The Commander in Chief's visit came after growing criticism of Trump for never visiting troops stationed overseas.

"I made it clear from the beginning that our mission in Syria was to strip ISIS of its military strongholds", Trump told troops clad in fatigues at al-Asad Airbase west of Baghdad. But the circumstances do highlight the difficulty facing Trump as a president who wants virtually unlimited defense spending harnessed to a belligerent nationalism - but doesn't much care for deploying USA military power unless it can kill everything in sight.

"There are myriad reasons for both a Department of Defense and an Army Regulation against military personnel participating in or showing allegiance to ANY political party while in uniform", wrote retired Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling on Twitter Thursday.
