'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' Is Officially the Fastest Selling Nintendo Switch Game

Ultimate not only the fastest selling game of all time for the Switch, but also the fastest selling game in the Super Smash Bros. series.

The company is also excited about the performance of Smash Ultimate, noting that it's sold three million units in just 11 days since launch.

NPD also confirm that Nintendo hardware sales are at their highest level since 2011, with eShop digital sales up 105% on past year. In the past year they also highlight a "105% growth" of eShop sales over 2017, a sales push of four million for Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch), 4.7m for Super Mario Odyssey and five million for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - behold, the power of Mario Kart.

Total Australian and New Zealand sales over the first three days were nearly 80% higher than that of Super Mario Odyssey. These include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

The company's website hasn't updated global sales for the Nintendo Switch nor the system's top-selling software since September.
