Elon Musk has 'no respect' for U.S. regulator

Musk tried to artificially inflate his stock price by tweeting out that he was thinking of taking the company public.

"The only tweets that would have to be reviewed would be if a tweet had a probability of causing a movement in the stock", he said.

Musk: I want to be clear, I do not respect the SEC.

Musk made a few other noteworthy comments on 60 Minutes, among them the widely reported statement that he doesn't "respect" the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Tesla announced the availability of a "midrange" Model 3 in October; the company is also working to boost production ahead of wider availability overseas, which could help Tesla sustain profit margins because the model will sell at a higher price abroad.

Also during the 60 Minutes interview, the two discussed the scrutiny he's brought upon himself as a result of his tweeting, and Elon explains that he simply uses the platform to express himself.
