The statute of limitations has also reportedly passed for Seagal's case, and the reporting party declined to be interviewed for the case against Anderson.
The District Attorney's office said in a charge evaluation sheet released on Tuesday that the allegation was outside the statue of limitations and that prosecution had been declined. The allegations, which he has repeatedly denied, have been levelled by actresses, film workers and reporters.
Anderson "unequivocally disputes the claim" against him, and authorities have not contacted him about it, a representative for the actor said in a statement. Both have been accused in other alleged assault cases now under review by the task force established by District Attorney Jackie Lacey a year ago to assess the wave of sexual harassment-related police reports filed in the wake of the #MeToo movement. A sexual battery allegation from 2016 in Malibu is still under review by the district attorney. At least six accusations of sex crimes are being investigated by London's Metropolitan Police.
In the case of Seagal, the allegation of assault is from 1993, when the victim was 18 years old.

Mr Spacey claimed to have no memory of the events but publicly apologised.
He was also sacked from Netflix's House Of Cards and edited out of Sir Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World.
