Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has claimed that Belgium worldwide Eden Hazard is the best player in Europe after scoring a hat-trick against Cardiff City on Saturday, September 15.

Maurizio Sarri has left Eden Hazard out of Chelsea's travelling 21-man squad for their Europa League group-stage opener at PAOK Salonika.

Sarri believes Hazard can score as many as 40 goals - even though his best Premier League tally is 16, set in the 2016-17 season - and that he should be gunning for the Premier League Golden Boot award.

"I have a feeling Sarri will give someone like Ruben Loftus-Cheek an outing, so I will back the England midfielder to score".

"He's a low-maintenance footballer, I think, Chelsea have done really well to hang onto him for the past couple of years", he said.

"When he gets the ball he can hold the ball and we can go in deep with him, so for us it's a pleasure to play with him".

Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park and his performances earned him a call-up to Gareth Southgate's squad for the World Cup. Because we are very unsafe in the defensive phase, we need to improve there.

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock thinks Chelsea could struggle to contain the Premier League's very best teams unless they hone their defending - and Sarri agrees.

Sarri is hoping that his system, and the midfield strength that underpins it, can allow Hazard to focus fully on the final third rather than feeling the burden of stabilizing and igniting uninspired Chelsea passages of play from deeper positions. I think he should have won player of the tournament.

"It is in no way devaluing the competition if we make those changes because the standard of the players who might come in are clearly top-level Premier League with absolutely no exceptions", Nevin added. He scored 19 league goals last term, and has already racked up four goals in the Champions League qualifiers.
