The 29-year-old point guard agreed to a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum with the Denver Nuggets Thursday night, a league source confirmed. The deal is for one year and will pay Thomas $2 million.

According to Wojnarowski, Thomas recently got together with Nuggets coach Michael Malone and president of basketball operations Tim Connelly in Las Vegas to discuss his potential place in the club's plans. Selected with the 22nd pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Nuggets, Faried earned All-Rookie First Team honors following his inaugural season.

That playoff run ended, however, with a hip injury that lingered well past Boston dealing him to Cleveland in exchange for Kyrie Irving. He averaged 20.3 points and a career-high 6.3 assists with the Kings that season. After recovering from offseason hip surgery, Thomas played in just 15 games with the Cavs before they traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers at the trade deadline. "So I deserve the max", Thomas told NBC Sports Boston last July (prior to his eventual trade to the Cavaliers, of course). He averaged 15.6 points per game on 38.3 percent shooting from the field and 32.7 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Thomas has been working his way back from a procedure on his hip and if he rebounds on the court this season, he could provide a strong option for the Nuggets while reestablishing his value before becoming a free agent again. He's averaged 18.9 points per game.
