The most nominated show was HBO's "Game of Thrones" with 22, followed by NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and HBO's "Westworld". Medfield's Uzo Aduba has been nominated for Supporting Actress for "Orange Is the New Black" three times (winning twice, in 2014 and 2015), while Wayland and West Roxbury's Taylor Schilling was nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014.

The "This is Us" star, who plays mom Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC tearjerker, wasn't among the names included in the "Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series" category.

The 2018 Emmy nominations were revealed on Thursday morning, and while there were some pleasant surprises, along with some stale favorites (William H. Macy again?), there were also some very notable absences.

The TV industry has made recent strides toward inclusion, with Glover and Sterling K. Brown of "This Is Us" winning top acting awards previous year and both nominated again.

The streaming service's maneuvering (and not incidentally, expensive Emmy campaigning) paid off with 112 nominations - a significant increase over previous year, edging HBO's 108.
