Dinesh D'Souza taunted former President Barack Obama in a variety of media appearances Thursday following news that President Trump would pardon him four years after he pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations.
What do those three people have in common?
Preet Bharara, who brought the charges against the political pundit when he was the US Attorney for the Southern District of NY, said the case was not unfair. He was sentenced to five years of probation and eight months in a halfway house, and paid a $30,000 fine.
Besides Mr. Bharara, there's James Comey, who prosecuted Ms. Stewart, and Patrick Fitzgerald, who prosecuted both Mr. Blagojevich and Mr. Libby, and is a friend of Mr. Comey's.
The federal prosecutor who oversaw Stewart's case in NY was James Comey, one of Trump's principal antagonists and the man he fired as FBI director a year ago. A former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, Libby was convicted of lying to investigators and obstruction of justice following the 2003 leak of the covert identity of a Central Intelligence Agency officer.
Trump noted that even though Blagojevich was Democrat, "He's not my party". D'Souza's 2016 film Hillary's America racked up millions in ticket sales from conservative moviegoers. "The career prosecutors and agents did their job", he said.

"As with the pardon of Joe Arpaio, Trump is sending a message that he will reward political allies for loyalty with get-out-of-jail-free cards", Democratic U.S. Representative Don Beyer said on Twitter.
D'Souza came in for criticism recently for a tweet mocking student survivors of the February 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida. "He said that, 'I got to tell you man-to-man, you've been screwed, '" D'Souza said of Trump's call.
The tweets have been sharply criticized by some Florida Republicans, including Gov. Rick Scott. "Mr. D'Souza accepted responsibility for his actions, and also completed community service by teaching English to citizens and immigrants seeking citizenship". Scott, who is running for U.S. Senate, has not yet said if he will attend.
