SUBJECT: Write emails faster with Smart Compose in Gmail

Smart Compose operates in the background, letting you accept its suggestions or ignore them, so you don't need to change the way you now compose drafts. You will then receive another alert to remind you it's time to take action. One of these was something called "Smart Replies" which also employs a set of machine learning algorithms to predict replies for you to an email. The suggestions will appear in faint type ahead of your cursor; hitting the tab button will add them to your message. At its annual developer conference I/O, Google has announced yet another AI-powered feature it's soon bringing to Gmail - Smart Compose. That means that when you're about to email your upstairs neighbor, Gmail might just suggest "Again, I don't want to nag, but I wish you'd do your gymnastics a bit earlier (or far later) than 2AM".

Gmail users have had Smart Reply for over a year, but the mail service is getting even smarter. "For example, if it's Friday it may suggest Have a great weekend! as a closing phrase", stated the company. Head to Settings - Try The New Gmail - and go for it.

The first new feature comes in the form of smart suggestions in the image viewer. Where Smart Reply is just a few words long and restricted to a few different options, Smart Compose can change. From there, you should see Smart Compose auto-populate your messages in the not-too-distant future.

Chelsea win gives Conte late hope of top-four finish
If Liverpool do miss out on the top four their Champions League hopes for next year will come down to the final in Kiev. Chelsea will host Huddersfield Town on Wednesday before taking on Newcastle United at St James' Park on the final day.

Smart Compose will be available to consumers using the new Gmail in the coming weeks, and to corporate G Suite customers in the coming months, according to Google.
