Jeffrey Tambor will be returning to Arrested Development for its upcoming fifth season, a Netflix spokesperson confirms to ABC News. Series creator Mitch Hurwitz issued an open letter to fans earlier this week in which he announced that a new chronological version of season 4 would be released on Friday, and he also teased that season 5 would be arriving on the streaming service "very soon".
Speculation had been rampant about whether the actor would still be featured on the show, given the turmoil around his role on Amazon's "Transparent".
Though Tambor denied the allegations, the actor still left the award-winning Amazon series shortly before the show returned for its new season this past February. That was around the same time the sexual misconduct allegations against Tambor were first reported. Controversy may of course surround Tambor's involvement, due to a pair of sexual harassment allegations levelled at him by a "Transparent" guest star, and a former assistant.
Netflix greenlit the much-anticipated fifth season last May, before the allegations surfaced.

"I am profoundly disappointed in Amazon's handling of these false accusations against me", Tambor told Deadline. She said that Tambor leaned his body against her and made thrusting motions against her body.
"He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me, and began quick, discreet thrust back and forth against my body", Lysette said. She felt his privates on her hips.
Alia Shawkat however was more reserved in her praise, and said it was "sad" to hear about the situation, referring to Tambor's accusers as "victims" who need "to be heard just as much". "But the fact is, for all my flaws, I am not a predator and the idea that someone might see me in that way is more distressing than I can express".
"The original season four of 'Arrested Development' on Netflix, as some of you know, experimented with a Rashomon-style of storytelling - with each episode dedicated to the adventure of one member of the Bluth family", Hurwitz wrote.
