Warriors come out flat, can't sweep the Spurs

The Warriors drew to within 88-86 with 5:57 left, but Ginobili sank two free throws to make it a four-point game.Aldridge gave the Spurs a little more breathing room when he connected on a three-point turnaround bank shot, giving them a seven-point lead with 4:22 remaining.

Ginobili scored 16 points, going five of 10 shooting, to extend the Spurs' season by at least two more days. It has been anything but as they cruised to double digit wins in their first three games.

Ultimately, the win by San Antonio tonight may just prolong the series for one more game before San Antonio succumbs to the talent level of the Golden State Warriors.

The Spurs never trailed, leading by as many as 10 in the first quarter and 17 in the second while earning their first win in a series after falling behind 3-0 during the Gregg Popovich era in San Antonio.

But San Antonio got a few timely buckets near the end of the game by Aldridge and Manu Ginobli - possibly playing in the final game of his career - and they staved off the late Golden State rally. On defense, the Warriors guards were outplayed by Spurs veterans Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.

Popovich missed his second straight game after his wife, Erin, passed away Wednesday following a prolonged illness.

Aldridge would finish with 22 points and 10 rebounds, but it's Ginóbili that would steal the show.

Durant led all scorers with 34 points on 12-of-28 shooting and added 13 rebounds but Thompson, guarded primarily by Danny Green, missed 12 of 16 shots and finished with only 12 points. By knocking down mid-rangers, getting to the line and hitting some 3-pointers Durant pulled the Warriors back within 4 points at one point in the 4th quarter.

Pochettino calls on Tottenham to replicate Madrid performance
Asked if United would consider second spot and the FA Cup as a successful season, Smalling added: "Yes, I think we would".

Nikki Haley's savage own of Larry Kudlow is one for the ages
The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Trump is unhappy with Haley and she may be in line to take a Tillerson-like fall. One of them said condescendingly that Haley had made "an error that needs to be mopped up".

So San Antonio fully expected to win Game 4.

"I think he should come back two more years", Kerr said. "We're not awful shooters".

That question was posed to Golden State's Draymond Green, whose response wasn't quite as good as his facial expressions.

Asked if he saw the rim during the shot after he turned around quickly to launch it, Aldridge said: "I did but I didn't think I put enough on it". "It hit glass and I was like, 'well this is about time that we had these breaks'". "We'll do that on Tuesday".

Ginobili also moved into third in National Basketball Association history in postseason 3-pointers, passing Reggie Miller with his 321st career playoff bucket from range.

Stephen Curry's inability to make it for the Golden State Warriors' post-season first round playoff clash was confirmed by coach Steve Kerr nearly immediately after he sustained a grade-two MCL sprain to his left knee during their 106-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks on March 23.

The Spurs did not announce if Popovich would make the trip to Oakland. And while they are not as strong as they've been in the recent past, they typically don't wilt. Though Klay's shooting was a significant issue, all of the starters except McGee shot poorly, and so the bigger issue in my view was that the ball wasn't moving, and the Warriors weren't manufacturing points the way they do best. And their poor first-quarter habits led the Warriors conceding they were too large for even their star-studded team to overcome. But Durant, arguably the best offensive player in the league, can score anywhere on the floor and shoot over anyone. Thompson had only five points.
