Following an FBI raid on his home, hotel room and office, President Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen filed for a temporary restraining order from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY to prevent federal investigators from reviewing material seized in the raid. Cohen, it seems, spent this glorious spring afternoon on a Manhattan sidewalk puffing a cigar with a bunch of his bros.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity, was confirming a report by the Wall Street Journal.
In Friday's filing, prosecutors said it would be "unprecedented" to allow Cohen's lawyers to decide what it is privileged, and that the government should be allowed to use its own "taint team", or "filter team", to do the job.
Prosecutors revealed the new details about the Cohen investigation after his lawyer appeared in court seeking to temporarily bar prosecutors from reviewing materials that FBI agents seized in a search this week of Cohen's office, home and hotel room.
The document noted that speculation about the genesis of the raid on Cohen coming out of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russian Federation was false. The president's lawyers have said they want to review the documents that were confiscated.
Ordinarily, documents or communications seized from a lawyer by FBI agents would be reviewed by a team of Justice Department lawyers not directly involved in the investigation to determine which documents were relevant to the probe, and which should be off-limits to investigators because of attorney-client privilege.
Cohen joined the Trump Organization as general counsel in 2006.
The prosecutors noted Cohen had personally not turned over any documents to Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation.
Chelsea make contact with 'very intrigued' Maurizio Sarri about replacing Antonio Conte
Conte will therefore have to name a strong line up to face the south coast side, as he aims for only his second away win in 2018. They are 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, and likely to miss out on a Champions League place.
Zuckerberg faces tougher questions at House hearing
Dingell expressed frustration with Zuckerberg's frequent promises to get back to lawmakers later in writing. Did Zuckerberg reveal we will all soon be paying for the site? And certainly in Europe this is happening.

According to The Washington Post, Cohen may be under examination for possible bank fraud and for campaign finance violations.
McKay replied that the president's attorney-client privilege "is no stronger than anyone else who seeks legal advice".
President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, fixer and longtime friend reportedly would often quip about having a rather poor grade point average in law school, according to a former classmate.
Prosecutors maintain, however, that Cohen was "performing little to no legal work, and that zero emails were exchanged with President Trump".
Judge Kimba Wood said Cohen's team will need to turn over by Monday a full list of Cohen's legal clients and the attorneys he's retained in various legal matters, as well as evidence proving that the parties were engaged in an attorney-client relationship.
Prosecutor Thomas McKay, who agreed to do nothing with the seized materials until Monday's hearing, told Wood that Trump should get no special privileges.
Cohen, however, said the officials who conducted the raid had been courteous and professional.
Public corruption prosecutors in the United States attorney's office in Manhattan are trying to determine, according to one person familiar with the investigation, if there was any fraud related to payments to McDougal or Clifford.
