The projects include Apple Park - the comnpany's headquarters in Cupertino, which is powered by 100 per cent renewable energy from multiple sources - including a 17-megawatt onsite rooftop solar installation and four megawatts of biogas fuel cells. The tech giant on Monday, April 9, said it has fulfilled its goal of powering all its facilities in 43 countries with renewable energy.

Apple's been pushing for more investment in renewable energy for quite some time now, and almost two years ago announced that its operations in 23 countries, including the U.S. and United Kingdom, were completely powered by renewable sources.

"We're committed to leaving the world better than we found it", Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a prepared statement.

Wynn Las Vegas' IT infrastructure is now being powered by 100 percent renewable energy. When these new projects become operational in 2019 and 2020, participating customers like us will be able to substitute a portion of our electricity bill with a fixed price matched to the production of renewable energy generated.

Apple also invests in other clean energy projects around the globe and the firm has 25 such projects in operation.

Crude oil prices dip slightly

Continuing a push towards renewable energy in its own buildings and those of suppliers, Apple announced today that its global facilities are now powered with 100 percent clean, renewable energy.

Apple's new spaceship campus has solar panels on the roof. The facilities include offices, data centres and retail stores.

Quanta Computer, one of the first Mac suppliers to commit to 100 percent renewable energy for Apple production.

Apple has been focused for years on making its products and its operations more environmentally friendly and has long said it aimed to run its operations entirely on renewable energy. It is now the largest LEED Platinum-certified office building in North America that brings together solar, biogas, batteries, and a microgrid controller to keep everything playing nicely together to meet the energy needs of the facility. That puts clean energy back into the power grid in greater measure than the company uses.

In a positive turn for its global suppliers, those who have committed to using clean energy helped to prevent 1.5m metric tonnes of greenhouse gases from being emitted in 2017 - that's equal to taking more than 300,000 cars off the road. So this announcement feels like a classic Apple product release.
